VaultMaster
Encryption
Photos, videos, files, names and thumbnails are all encrypted on your iPhone with AES-256-GCM. Nothing is uploaded.
What is encrypted
Photos, videos, files, their names, dates, thumbnails and the list of what you’ve stored are all encrypted on your iPhone with AES-256-GCM. Each vault has its own random master key, stored only inside small files that open with the right pattern or your recovery phrase.
What we never have
There’s no account and no server holding your vault. We never receive your photos, your pattern, your recovery phrase or your keys.
Secure Enclave
Your pattern is mixed with a secret that’s wrapped by a key inside your iPhone’s Secure Enclave. Copying the files or the Keychain off the phone doesn’t give an attacker everything they need to guess your pattern offline.
What it can’t do
We’d rather tell you plainly than have you find out later.
- VaultMaster can’t defend against a compromised iOS or malware that reads the screen while your vault is open.
- No app can stop screenshots, or a camera pointed at your screen.
