Backup and restore
Save an encrypted backup of a vault as one file, to Files or iCloud Drive, and restore it with your recovery phrase.
One file per vault
From Settings, back up a vault to a single encrypted file and save it wherever you choose, including Files and iCloud Drive. Everything in the file is encrypted.
Restoring on a new phone
On the unlock screen choose Restore from a backup, pick the file, and enter your recovery phrase. If the vault is already on the phone, VaultMaster tells you.
What it can’t do
We’d rather tell you plainly than have you find out later.
- Backups are made by you, as a file. VaultMaster doesn’t back up or sync your vault by itself, so back up anything you can’t replace.
Questions
- Does VaultMaster back up to iCloud automatically?
- No. You choose when to make a backup file and where to save it. Automatic backup and sync aren’t part of the app.
- What do I need to restore a backup?
- The backup file and your nine-word recovery phrase.
