About Thistle Miles

Thistle Miles notices when you start driving, records the trip in the background, and ends it when you park. Swipe each drive into business or personal, and it works out the claim at the official rates for the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, France or the Netherlands, or at a rate you set anywhere else.

Add past trips with every stop, repeat a regular one on several days at once, and export any period as a PDF or spreadsheet for your tax return or your employer’s expense claim. It tells you if automatic logging ever stops, and it can log only during work hours so your evenings stay private. No account. Your trips stay on your phone.

Questions

Which countries does Thistle Miles support?
It has the official rates and tax years built in for the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, France and the Netherlands. Anywhere else, you set your own rate per mile or kilometre, your currency and when your tax year starts.
Does it drain my battery?
It uses low-power location monitoring until a drive starts, then GPS for the length of the drive only. You can also log only during work hours, or pause logging for holidays.
Is Thistle Miles free?
It’s free for 20 automatically logged drives a month, with unlimited trips you start yourself or add later. Thistle Miles Pro logs every drive, sorts trips for you and unlocks the PDF and spreadsheet exports, with a 7-day free trial. Pro can be shared with your family.
Can I add trips I forgot to log?
Yes. Add a past trip with as many stops as you made, and the road distance is worked out for you. Regular trips can be repeated, or saved on several days at once.
Where are my trips kept?
On your iPhone. There’s no account. If you turn on iCloud sync, they’re kept in your own iCloud, which we can’t see.
